Car Specifications.

Car Regulations:

All Cars are going to be built to official race specifications. Which means the cars will be FWD 2009 Mini Cooper JCW. They will have a maximum of 208bhp and will race on full racing slicks. The car will have the standard turbo spec, and this must not be converted or upgraded.

Rear Wing - Race (Forza)
Rear Bumper - Optional
Side Skirts - Optional

Category: Tires and Rims:

Tire Compound – Racing Slicks
Front Tire Width - 235/--R17 (at the most.. install part listed if available)
Rear Tire Width - 235/--R17 (at the most.. install part listed if available)
Front Rim Size - 235/--R17 (at the least.. install part listed if available)
Rear Rim Size - 235/--R17 (at the least.. install part listed if available)
Rim Style - Optional - (NOT CHROME)

Category: Drivetrain:

Clutch - Race
Transmission - Race
Driveline - Race
Differential - Race

Category: Platform and Handling:

Brakes - Race
Springs and Dampers - Race
Front Anti-roll Bars - Race
Rear Anti-roll Bars - Race
Chassis Reinforcement and Roll Cage - Race
Weight Reduction - Closest to Race without going under Regulations.

Flywheel – Optional

I got a question about the car specifications. It sais Weight Reduction - Closest to Race without going under Regulations.
What is the minimum wheight?

The minimum weight is 2500 lbs - if the car weighs less your car wont be aloud to enter the event. There is a built car and tune in my storefront.

Possibly this has been addressed before on here but why are the specifications (extras etc.) of cars in Ireland so low?

I've been comparing UK car specs. with what we get here across Ford Mondeo's; Audi A4's; Audi A6's; BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series because I am trying to replace my current car and some of the things that are considered extras here are considered as standard in the UK.

Any car with decent spec. here (e.g. leather seats; parking sensors) has usually been imported from the UK or NI.

Also the price of cars here with extras is usually way higher than the UK. It cannot be all VRT driving up the price. Does this SIMI crowd have some overall say in the type of cars that land on our shores?

Why do we all settle for paying higher prices for cars with lesser "extras" as standard?
